July 2025 Garden Walk & Luncheon

We had beautiful day for visiting these outstanding gardens. Two gardens were new viewing opportunities while two were ones we have visited before. All were unique in their presentation whether new and fresh or seeing what new ideas the gardeners have added. Each was beautiful and we thank our members who graciously allowed us in to view them.

June 6 Plant Sale

What an incredible plant sale thanks to our members who made this our highest grossing event to date! A big shot out to our Board Members who worked tirelessly behind-the-scenes to put it all together. Of course, the sale wouldn’t have been successful without all of our wonderful customers who shopped to find an incredible array of healthy, homegrown plants sold at bargain prices! To top it off, a sizable donation will be made to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry.

April 29 Tulip Festival

The tulips are planted near Richardson Farm’s private 36 acre lake for an absolutely beautiful setting. With 650,000 bulbs in the ground from the previous 2 years, they have added another 350,00 bulbs this past fall……you guessed it, 1 MILLION TULIPS this Spring – plus 100,000 Daffodils

March 13 Orchid Show

This amazing show, with more than 10,000 blooms, was our first field trip of the year.

December 2024 Holiday Party

Our holiday party was an event to remember with beautifully decorated tables, delicious food – thanks to our members, and Christmas music. A fantastic selection of evergreens, flowers, and decorations (thanks Susan and Nancy) allowed members to create their own unique centerpieces. Thanks to all our volunteers who assisted with set-up and clean-up.

Donation to Schaumburg Township Food Pantry

We were honored to be able to present a check to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry for $270.00 from the plant sale. Marianne Rogenski, Supervisor Program Support Services, was grateful for our donation. We were given a tour of the facility and she explained how they are one of the few food pantry’s that are able to provide refrigerated and frozen foods. Thank you to our members and customers of the plant sale who helped make this donation possible.

July 2024 – GARDEN WALK

June 2024 – Member Field Trip to Klehm Arboretum

We enjoyed our visit to this peaceful Arboretum even with the 90+ degree weather. We had a wonderful docent who took us a tour and told us the history of the arboretum. It started out in 1923 as a nursery that sold a variety of plants but their passion was rare and unusual trees not known to be hardy in this area. Many of those trees have survived and became the heart of the Klehm’s collection.

June 2024 – PLANT SALE!

Thank you to all of our members who worked tirelessly to make this the club’s most successful sale ever!! Net sales came to $2,684.00 – AMAZING!! We donated $270.00 to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. Unsold plants were donated to the Garden Ministry of St. Gregory Parish and were planted at the St. Marcelline Campus

Loading up all of the plants!

Loading up all of the plants, tables, etc. was quite a job!

May 2024 – Member Field Trip to Blumen Gardens

This was a great field trip! The owner, Joel, and his team couldn’t have been more gracious. Joel gave us a history of the area and his own horticultural background and gave us some great gardening tips. We enjoyed a buffet lunch of sandwiches and salad in their charming building and then spent the rest of the afternoon shopping! They had a wonderful selection of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees.
